When a survivor discloses a sexual assault or harassment, the school they attend has a responsibility to respond promptly and effectively. If a school knows or reasonably should know about an instance that creates a hostile environment, the school must take immediate action to eliminate the sexual harassment or sexual violence, prevent its recurrence, and address its effects, per law.
You do not have to report to your school; however, most school employees are mandatory reporters. For specific information at your school, please follow-up with the Title IX office.
